Tax Credit Ends Soon

The Homebuyer Tax credits end soon. Contracts must be signed by April 30, 2010. Buyer traffic has been increasing and new home supply is decreasing. According to most economists, interest rates are likely to rise soon. The tax credit combined with low interest rates and low home prices mean that new home affordability is at an historic low. More information about both tax credits is available at www.federalhousingtaxcredit.com.

Tax Credit Gets Extended and Expanded

Our elected officials in Washington have given potential home buyers another reason to buy a new home. After the success of the First Time Homebuyer Tax Credit, Washington recently passed and signed into law a bill that extends the existing tax credit as well as opens up a new tax credit for current homeowners. Those that have been in their existing home for 5 consecutive years out of the last 8 may now be eligible for a tax credit of $6,500 when they purchase a new home. More information about both tax credits is available at www.federalhousingtaxcredit.com.

The Tick of the Tax Credit Clock is Getting Louder

Earlier this year our representatives in Washington signed a bill giving first time home buyers a tax credit of up to $8,000. This is a great incentive to buy a home and many have taken advantage of the opportunity. Now the expiration date is nearing. The tax credit is set to expire on November 30th of this year. To be eligible buyers must close on their home purchase by that time. If you are a first time buyer, do not miss this opportunity. Prices, selection, incentives and now the tax credit have never been better. Check the tax credit count down on our home page to see how many days you have left.

Buyers Taking Advantage of Incentives

Recent traffic in many Meridian Homes’ new home communities has been brisk. Buyers seem to now understand that the tax credits, low interest rates and price discounts will come to an end. Interest rates continue to fluctuate in the high fours to mid fives. Tax credits are set to expire in just a few months and prices cannot stay this low forever. This is a message that seems to never hit the newspaper or TV, but in fact many buyers are taking advantage of this unprecedented buying opportunity.

Georgia Hopes To Stimulate Homebuyers

The State of Georgia has given homebuyers another reason to buy a home…now. All homebuyers who buy during the six-month period ending november 30,2009 will be eligible for a 1.2% tax credit up to $1,800. The tax credit is applied over a three-year period. The State tax credit is available to all homebuyers. There is also a Federal tax credit of up to $8,000 for first time homebuyers. These tax credits along with low prices, available incentives and low interest rates will likely make 2009, the best year in recent history to purchase a new home.

The Sounds of Construction are in the Air

The sounds of construction are ringing in several Meridian Homes’ communities. There has been an increase in interested buyers this month. Some buyers are choosing to buy a Ready-to-Move-in Home while others have elected to build. New Home affordability has lead many buyers to act now. With lower prices, low interest rates and available incentives, New Home pricing is very attractive.

There is little doubt that we have had, and still are experiencing an economic recession. History shows that this recession will end. Whether it is stocks or houses, market timing is very difficult. With the increase in activity it is likely that new home prices will begin to rise soon. Most builders have been selling at or below cost for many months and are looking to start increasing margins. Meridian is still offering great prices and low interest along with our quality built, well designed homes. Stop by today and see why we are one of the few builders still actively building!
